Another school year and another great group of
students!
During Jesus time, we are talking about the Old Testament stories. We started in the beginning with Creation. God created everything good, but sin came into the world and changed everything. God, in His great love, sent His Son, Jesus, to save us by taking the punishment for our sins on the cross. We continued with the stories of Joseph and Moses. God is constantly with us during the good times and the bad times. God continues to provide for us just as He provided for His people in the Old Testament.
Fall is a great time to study apples. We were able to get a box of apples. The children helped make applesauce. Once we made the applesauce we all got to eat some. That was fun. We took the rest of the applesauce and made apple butter out of it. Our room smelled really good for several days. Then we had bread and apple butter. Yummy! Our next unit was on recycling. We learned that recycling is one way to help take care of God’s creation. We recycled “old” paper into new paper. We have plans to make cards out of the paper that we made. Next we talked about how we learn about our world. We use the five senses that God gave us. We were able to “see” and feel books made for blind people. We were also able to use all five senses to learn about popcorn.
Again this year we are blessed with a great group of volunteers. Some clean, empty trash, work in the office and get our lunch, others read and work with us. We are so thankful for those who are willing to offer some of their time to help us out.
As we start this new year, we ask you to continue to support us with your prayers. It is truly a privilege to share the Gospel with each other everyday. Thank you for helping.
Blessings from Mrs. Brase and all the students in First, Kindergarten, and Kindergarten Enrichment.
