November 2007 - 2nd, 3rd, 4th Grades

True friends are hard to find, but David and Jonathan were true to the end. Friends are important, and choosing good friends is very important too. Not only choosing friends is important, being a good friend to someone who needs a friend is something that 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders are trying to learn as we study about David. We like to have friends who do what we like to do, but it takes a friend to do what someone else wants to do even when it is not your favorite game or activity. Friends sometimes say no when it is the right thing to say. Who said that growing up was easy?

We have finished our first quarter of school and will be getting our report cards soon. Some find that scary and others look forward to see what we have done. Would we be excited to see our report card, if God gave us one each quarter? Some of us may find that scary and some of us may think that we got all A's. Can we really get all A's by ourselves? That is why we have a Savior who died for us, so that our report card has the A's on it that we don't deserve.

Matter is everywhere. That word should be a part of our vocabulary in the 3rd and 4th grade, as we are looking at the different kinds of matter. 2nd graders are finding all the things that make light. The most important one is the sun (Son). It is so much fun to be able to use God's name in all of our studies. Please keep us in your prayers as we enter another quarter.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
