Bible Study: In our Bible study lessons we have been learning about the miracles of Jesus. We just finished reading about Jesus walking on the water, and Peter following Him. As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he could walk on water. As soon as he started thinking about himself, he began to sink. We also need to remember to always keep our eyes on Jesus, so we too can “walk on water”. We need to remember as soon as we take our eyes off Him, we sink in our earthly troubles.

Math: The third graders are learning how to multiply. It is so fun to have them be excited when they get to do another multiplication times test. They are getting super fast! The third grade is also learning about finding the perimeter and area of a shape. The fourth graders are doing long division. It may look long on our paper, but we are getting pretty fast. We use graph paper to help us line all the numbers up correctly. The fifth grade class is learning about decimals and fractions.

Science: We have started a new unit on plants. We are learning about photosynthesis. We are also learning some big words about how plants grow: hydrotropism, phototropism, thigmotropism, and geotropism. Ask us what these words mean!

English: We just finished up a big unit on adjectives. We are pretty good at describing things now.

Social Studies: We are studying the Revolutionary War, and the causes leading up to the big fight. We learned the colonists did not like taxes (just like many say about their parents). We realize the difference is that the colonists were fighting against taxation without representation, whereas our parents get to vote and have a say in our government.

As you can tell, we have been super
busy in class. But, we were
even able to squeeze in a
trip to the Bahamas as we
are all getting tired of the
long winter. We wore
beach attire, and
enjoyed juicing apples
and making an orange
Julius to drink.
